About Me

Hello!!  I am Stacey Lee of the LoveLee Home.  My husband, Michael, and I have one amazing daughter, Avery (almost 3), a baby girl due July 4th and our anxious/crazy dog, Hashbrown.  I am just your average stay at home mom doing my best to raise two beautiful and sweet little girls while navigating my way through renovating our home.

I am originally from a small town in Iowa and still love going home to visit! If you haven’t been to Iowa it is definitely a place to visit! I know it’s not somewhere you would typically think to go but trust me you will meet some of the most amazing people there! After college I moved to Jacksonville, FL and worked in insurance for 5+ years handling claims. That is where I met my husband who was in the Navy at the time. We dated for about 3 months before he went on deployment and after that was transferred to Chicago. We both knew we had found something special wanted to make it work so we did!  Long distance was not ideal but we did everything we could to see each other as often as possible. We logged quite a few hours in airports and on planes for 2 years. 🙂 After he left active duty, he still currently serves in the Reserves, we lived in Houston, TX briefly and then moved to Birmingham, AL. We have been here for 5 years now! Birmingham has been so great for us! In 5 years we have gained so much including 2 girls, a dog, a house and some truly amazing experiences. We are truly blessed.

Birmingham also happens to be where I started building and dabbling in DIY/Woodworking. After I had Avery, I decided to stay home with her. I couldn’t leave that precious face and go back to work! I have an insane amount of respect for working moms! You ladies are superhero’s!! My passion for DIY started when I wanted everything from Pottery Barn but couldn’t afford it! I started searching Pinterest and found some amazing women bloggers/DIYer’s to follow and they truly helped me get started! Shout out to Ana White and Shanty 2 Chic! They are amazing! So I simply started trying and it turns out I was pretty good at it. My husband still tells me how impressed he is when I finish a new project and let me tell you, that never gets old. 🙂

I truly believe that anyone can start building, creating, and DIYing if they really want to. I love it because it is soooooooo cost effective and rewarding! I have built everything in our home from the coffee table, dining room table, beds, patio furniture, shelves, bar, etc. Plus its the best feeling to look around your house and know that you made that! I am also starting to remodel our house. I have installed our flooring, updated light fixtures, removed popcorn ceiling and have plans for much more! I am looking forward to sharing what I learn with you and hope you enjoy!!
