It is so crazy to me that I am sitting here writing my very first blog post! I have thought about doing this on and off for over a year and finally decided it was time to give it a shot! I think the best place to start is to introduce myself. My name is Stacey Lee (hence TheLoveLee Home) 🙂 and I am a stay at home mom of one beautiful little girl Avery (almost 3) and I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with my second baby girl Caroline. You should all feel very special because those of you reading this are the first to know our newest baby girl’s name! 🙂 My husband is Michael and is one of the hardest working men I know. I consider myself to be extremely lucky and blessed with the best husband and daughter in the world!
We are currently living in Birmingham, AL and have been here about 5 years now. I am originally from Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) and moved to Florida after college and that’s where I met my husband. He was in the United States Navy at the time and was leaving for deployment just a few months after we met. So we dated long distance during deployment and for about 2 years after that when he had to move to Chicago. Not easy at all, but we did everything we could to make it work and it was beyond worth it! He left active duty and started a civilian job in Houston, TX and we lived there briefly together before he was transferred to Birmingham and we have been here ever since!
In June of 2015 we bought our first home together and I was very excited to get started on all of the projects that come along with buying a home that was 25 years old!! 🙂 I say, “I was very excited,” because my husband does not love anything having to do with DIY or home remodeling. He will be the first to tell you he is not very handy! We are on two totally different ends of the spectrum on that one! My husband is more of a sports and outdoor kind of guy, loves all things football, golf, baseball, running, beach going, etc. I love all those things too but I absolutely LOVE building and creating new things! Give me a drill, saw, nail gun, paint brush, etc. and I am the happiest girl on earth!!
I started building about 2 years ago and pretty well taught myself and learned from amazing bloggers like Ana White and Shanty 2 Chic! Love Love Love them! I did research, built up my tool supply and just got after it! People ask me all the time how I started doing this and that they could never do it. I simply don’t believe that! I think anyone who wants to start building, creating, and DIYing can do it. That’s one of the main reasons I wanted to do this blog. To show you all that anyone can do this! I want to share my experiences with you so you can learn from my mistakes, because believe me I make them! I am truly looking forward to sharing this process with you, answering your questions and showing you the good, the bad and the ugly of being a stay at home mom and DIYer!
